Yesterday Hip Hop International dropped a bombshell update on all us dancers and supporters by announcing America’s Best Dance Crew will be returning very soon. The details are not laid out quite yet, but the announcement came out of nowhere as everyone expected the hit show, previously on MTV, was done forever. The great news comes at a time when most street dancers do not have many options to be represented on TV with only So You Think You Can Dance appearing on Fox, so its nice to see ABDC coming back.
America’s Best Dance Crew has been an important vehicle in giving initial opportunities for hundreds of dancers from Jabbawockeez to Request Crew to Poreotics and many others. Many of the dancers, choreographers, and assistants involved with the show have gone on to influence street dance with many artists, TV shows, movies, on stage projects, and more.
